The area has plenty of gorgeous old villages with traditional maltese houses, some of which date back from the Knights of St John. Go on a treasure hunt in Valletta, the country’s medieval capital, searching for a prize among the city’s cobbled streets. Test your English at the Flea Market by engaging in an age-old Maltese tradition of bargaining for the riches you find. Join us at a typical village “Festa” where you’ll watch the locals celebrate their patron saint with brass bands and fireworks. And when you’re just ready for some hangout time, head for the EF Beach Club, where you can catch up with friends over a fruit juice, listen to music, or rent just about any sort of water-sport equipment

Our Global Village in Lija is actually hosted in a student residence facility at Malta University—so your classrooms, tennis court, jogging track, basketball court, outdoor pool are all conveniently on-site! Plus, by living in a campus residence, you get a real taste for what being a university student is all about. Your English lessons will be supplemented with study visits to cultural attractions like the St. James Cavalier arts center in Valletta and the Ta’ Qali Crafts Village. Be sure to check the Activities Board every afternoon to find out what’s on. Could be a basketball, football or volleyball tournament, beach barbecue, or boat trip to the Blue Lagoon of Camino Island. And the action definitely does not stop when the sun goes down. There’s a weekly karaoke night, and free entrance to EF’s disco three times a week.
