In the summer, the water temperature in St. Julian’s is a perfect 25 degrees. So get ready to spend some serious time in the water. Why not try paragliding, windsurfing, or scuba diving? If you’re more of a spectator, sailing regattas are held regularly between April and November. There’s also plenty around town to keep you busy. A village “festa” takes place every weekend—your chance to see an impressive display of fireworks, watch the locals celebrate their patron saint, listen to a brass band or two. But be sure to save some time for exploring the rest of the island. Malta sits at the very crossroads of Western Civilization, with more than 7,000 years of history with ruins like the temples of Hagar Qim that predate the Great Pyramid of Giza and Stonehenge.

At EF Centre, take a highly interactive English course, or improve your English by trying a range of water sports (EF Action Aqua) or combining English with street dance lessons (EF Action Street Dance). Study visits to St James Cavalier Arts Center or Ta’ Qali Crafts Village will introduce you the very best of Maltese culture. Be sure to check the Activities Board every afternoon to find out what’s on. Could be a volleyball tournament, beach barbecue, or boat trip to the Blue Lagoon of Comino Island. And the action definitely does not stop when the sun goes down. Free entrance to EF’s nightly disco—hosted by professional DJs—is one of your best bets for fun on the island.
